Why blog about breast cancer?

Close to one and a half million women will be diagnosed with breast cancer around the world in 2010, and over 400,000 will die.  Here in the U.S., despite widespread awareness campaigns and massive fundraising efforts over the years, breast cancer is still the second leading cause of cancer death among women.  There have been small steps forward in combating the disease but we need much much more.  This blog is a place to chronicle the latest research and the latest legislative efforts, in order to increase awareness of the issues and to inspire action.
